FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP

For over 110 years, the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity at the University of Illinois has been devoted to academic excellence, leadership, and community service. Johnny “Red” Kerr is one of the many young men who began the pursuit of their dreams as a member of the Illinois Delta chapter of Phi Kappa Psi. Johnny “Red” Kerr excelled as a basketball player at the University of Illinois and in the National Basketball Association before becoming the color commentator for the Chicago Bulls, a job that Kerr held for over 30 years. To honor Mr. Kerr, our chapter will be awarding $1500 in scholarships to incoming male freshmen. We will award one $1000 scholarship and two $250 scholarships based on leadership, academic achievement, and community service. You are not obligated to join Phi Kappa Psi in order to receive this scholarship.

The award amounts for the scholarship are as follows:

1st Place – $1,000
2nd Place – $250 each
